Game Changers
If you can see it, you can be it.
Today, one in three youth in America is growing up without a sustained adult mentor in their lives. In the Milwaukee area, over 500 young people are currently waiting to be matched with a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee.
The Game Changers initiative unites the collective power of influential leaders and changemakers to help tackle key issues impacting youth today by creating awareness, access and opportunity through mentorship.

Who was/is a Game Changer in your life?
A huge mentor of mine was my 5th-grade teacher, Mr. Edwards. When I was in 5th grade, I found myself getting in trouble, competing for attention I wasn’t getting at home. Mr. Edwards told me for the first time that I was a leader and I could use it for good or bad, but ultimately it was my choice. This conversation changed the direction of my life.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be everything from a teacher to an astronaut. It’s funny how my job as a news anchor allows me to learn and share something new every day. The only thing missing is a visit to space on-assignment!
Why is mentoring important to you?
Mentoring is important to me because it allows us to see something in a young person that they might not yet see in themselves. We have a unique opportunity to remind a young person of who they are and who they can become.
