Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

February Activities

Learn to Earn: Employment Workshop
Saturday, February 7 from 9:00am-1:00pm
Cielo (formerly know as Pinstripe), 200 South Executive Drive, Suite 400 Brookfield, 53005
Join BBBS and Cielo for a hands-on workshop for your Little to learn how to prepare for employment. The workshop will include: resume/cover letter building, mock interviews, and where to find jobs. Lunch will be provided. This event is for ages 13 and older.

BBBS R.B.I’s
Wednesday, February 11 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
BBBS Office 788 N. Jefferson St. Ste. 600, Milwaukee, 53202
Our Relationship Building Initiative is designed specifically for newer matches who know they can get something more out of their relationship with their mentor/mentee. Matches will participate in a variety of games and activities designed to build personal confidence and strengthen relationships. This is a great opportunity to share the amazing journey your match has embarked on with others traveling the same road! Dinner will be provided. This event is for all ages.

Detective in Training
Tuesday, February 17 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Discovery World 500 N. Harbor Drive Milwaukee, 53202
Matches are invited to investigate the science of forensics in this hands-on lab.  Fingerprinting, hair analysis, and DNA sequencing are explored as students work to solve a mock crime and learn the techniques and methods of scientific criminal investigation. This event is for ages 8-12 years old.

 Big/Little Bowl Fundraiser
Friday, February 20 from 6:00pm-8:30pm
Bowlero, 11737 W. Burleigh, Milwaukee, 53222
Join BBBS in reaching our goal of 75 matches participating in our Big/Little Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser. Each match will get free shoe rental, two free bowling games, t-shirts, food and sodas when they raise $100 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. This event is for all ages.  Protecting Animals with Care and Kindness at the Wisconsin Humane Society (PACK with WHS)

Friday, February 27 from 6:00pm-7:30pm
Join matches in visiting the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) and meet some furry friends! We will provide dinner, a behind the scenes tour of WHS, and get a chance to meet some of the adorable animals currently awaiting new homes! Learn how WHS cares for animals and what they do to make sure animals find the purr-fect home! This event is for all ages.

Dodgeball Mania - Guys Day Out

Dodge, dip and duck! We invite guy matches to join us with MPS Milwaukee Recreation and play dodgeball. This is a great time to make new friends and be active. Please note: foam gator balls will be used. This event is for all ages.
