Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

June Activities

Construction is FUN for Everyone
Saturday, June 27 from 9:30am-12:30pm

Hunzinger Construction, 21100 Enterprise Ave. Brookfield, 53045
Join Hunzinger Construction Company for a fun-filled morning of hands on construction experience. Your Little will have the chance to build their very own wooden birdhouse, participant in a safety obstacle course and equipment testing challenge. This is a great opportunity to learn about careers in construction and make a bird house! Lunch and snacks will be provided. This event is for all ages.

Learn! Develop! Grow! Join BBBS for a fun-filled event focused on building your match relationship. This activity is intended for our newest matches, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends, set goals and learn more about each other. We will have interactive games that will help you with strengthening the building blocks of your friendship. You will walk away with great tips to help you both as you continue to develop your relationship. Dinner will be provided. This event is for matches within the first six months and for all ages.

Wilderness Survival 101
Wednesday, July 15 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Riverside Urban Ecology Center 1500 E. Park Pl., Milwaukee, 53211
Come join the UEC for a survival adventure in the wilderness of Riverside Park! Matches will learn wilderness skills such as no-match fires, shelter building, and a fun survival scavenger hunt. The night will wrap up around a bonfire, but you’ll have to earn your s’mores! This event is for all ages.

Fossil Hunters: Expedition Dinosaur

Have you ever heard of a Rhinorex? It’s a brand new dinosaur with a huge nose that was discovered recently by paleontologists. New dinosaurs are being discovered all the time! Share your dinosaur knowledge and dig up the newest facts about these fabulous fossilized reptiles. Create your own dinosaur fossil, excavate a snack and step back in time as we visit the special exhibit, Adventure Dinosaur. Light snacks will be provided. This event is for Littles ages 6-12.

Birdies, Eagles, & more
Saturday, July 25 from 9:00am-1:00pm
Noyes Park Golf Course, 8235 W. Good Hope Rd., Milwaukee 53223
We are partnering with The First Tee of Milwaukee County to provide instruction and play in the lifetime sport of golf. Matches will learn skills, rules, and etiquette. Core values and healthy habits will also be discussed. After the instruction, it’s time to hit the links! Matches will be playing a 9 hole scramble on the par 3 course. All equipment and lunch will be provided. This event is for all ages.

Match Anniversary Party (new location)

The Anniversary Party includes awards, games and food. Our party is designed to celebrate long-lasting mentoring relationships. We will have a chance to play games, games. BBBS holds a Match Anniversary Party every other month. Matches celebrating anniversaries in July and August will attend this party. This event is for all ages.
