Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

Dream Big with the Milwaukee Bucks
Wednesday, September 10 from 6:00pm-8:30pm
Bradley Center 1001 N. 4th St Milwaukee, 53203
Join us for our 5th Annual Dream Big evening for a behind scenes look at the Bucks organization. Dream Big in the realm of the NBA is not limited to playing the game. There are many BIG careers within the NBA to set your Littles’ sights on. We do want to share other career options that your Little might not know exist, start Littles thinking about the future in a positive way that focuses on current strong efforts in school. Matches will learn about 5 career areas within the Milwaukee Bucks through discussion and hands on activities. Even if you have attended Dream Big before, there are new areas to explore. The evening will include; refreshments, contests prizes and more! This event is for ages 12 and older.

Volunteer and Enjoy Global Union
Saturday, September 13 from 12:00pm-6:00pm
Humboldt Park, 3000 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee
Join and help set up the park for the 9th Annual Global Union World Music Festival, brought to you by Alverno Presents along with sponsors BMO Harris Bank, Transfer Pizzeria and Café, and Helen Bader Foundation. This is a great way to experience music, food, art, and culture from around the world.

There will be four bands with artists from Brazil, Argentina, China, Appalachia, Sierra Leone/Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago.  This year’s event will include a Children & Family Tent with interactive musical performances and a community art project provided by Express Yourself Milwaukee face painting, and games and activities courtesy of The Learning Shop. Admission is free, but food, drink and merchandise will also be for sale. Bring your blankets and chairs for an afternoon concert in the park.e are looking for matches to help before and after the festival. All matches who volunteer will receive 2 tickets to an upcoming Alverno Presents performance at the Pitman Theater on Alverno College’s campus.

We are looking for matches to help the day of the event:

Volunteer shifts 10am-12:30pm
Hospitality/Set Up: duties include setting up the hospitality tent with food and beverages for performers, preparing dressing rooms, and helping to set up tables/chairs and other areas in the park.

Volunteer shifts 5:30pm-7:00pm
Clean-up: duties include breaking down the hospitality tent, cleaning out dressing rooms, and picking up trash from around the park.

Civics in Action City Hall
Wednesday, September 17 from 5:45pm-8:30pm
City Hall, 200 E. Wells, Milwaukee, 53202
Join special guests and elected leaders from the City of Milwaukee government for a brief overview of how our youth today can make a difference in their community.  Matches will then tour historic City Hall and learn the importance of what civic engagement means.Take part in a mock council meeting to experience what it is like to be a policy maker, learn how decisions are made and how change can happen. Dinner will be provided. This event is for all ages.

Match Anniversary Party
Wednesday, September 24 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Evolution 223 East Chicago St. Milwaukee, 53202
The Anniversary Party includes awards, games and food. Our party is designed to celebrate long lasting mentoring relationships.We will have a chance to play ping pong and other games. BBBS holds a Match Anniversary Party every other month. Matches celebrating anniversaries in September and October will attend this party. This event is for all ages.
