Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

2017 February Activities

 Big Little Bowl Fundraiser
Thursday, February 23 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
AMF Bowlero, 11737 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa, 53222

Join BBBS in reaching our goal of 80 matches participating in our Big/Little Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser. Each match will need to raise $100 and then will be able receive free shoe rental, two free bowling games, food, sodas, prizes and more. This event is for all ages. Please note: If you cannot attend this Big Little Bowl, join us of Friday, April 7.

2017 March Activities

Briggs for Bigs Night *All Ages
Wednesday, March 1 from 7:00pm-9:00pm
BMO Harris Bradley Center, 1001 N. 4th St., Milwaukee, 53203
Join BBBS for our annual Briggs for Bigs night at the Milwaukee Bucks game. We will have a designated area for you to stop by and create a sign to support BBBS and the Bucks. We will also have drawing for a few matches to participate in two special opportunities including, high-fiving the starting line-up and being acknowledged on center court at halftime with Briggs and Stratton. You will be notified if you are selected to participate in the special opportunities. This event is for all ages.

Read Across America *All Ages

Join us BBBS in celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday by participating in National Read Across America day. Whether you are young or old, reading is always important. We will have reading activities, book giveaways, and more. Desert will be provided. This event is for all ages.

BBBS Smart Start *All Ages
Tuesday, March 7 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Learn! Develop! Grow! Join BBBS for a fun-filled event focused on building your match relationship. This activity is intended for our newest matches, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends, set goals and learn more about each other. We will have interactive games that will help you with strengthening the building blocks of your friendship. You will walk away with great tips to help you both as you continue to develop your relationship. Dinner will be provided. This event is for matches within the first four months and for all ages.

Join BBBS for this fun and interactive workshop to learn the importance of saving and spending. We’ll learn where money comes from, how we earn it, what we do with it, and much more. Matches will receive a Penny the Pig Bank and Littles will customize their pig with goal stickers. Dinner will be provided. This event is for Littles ages 6-12.

Urban Ecology Center Washington Park 4145 W. Lisbon Ave., Milwaukee, 53208
Participate in the classic Wisconsin winter activity of collecting maple sap and boiling it down into syrup. We will take a stroll through Washington Park as we learn about this age old tradition, and go through the process together. Samples of the finished product are also provided, with pancakes of course! Dress to be outside. This event is for all ages.

Girls Zumba Night Out *All Ages

Join BBBS for a night of fun and fitness. Zumba is a great way to exercise with a combination of areobics and Latin American dance moves. Be active and dance to great music with other Big Sisters and Little Sisters. All skill levels are welcome. This event is for all ages.

Guys Crossfit Day Out *Ages 10 and older
Saturday, March 18 from 1:00pm-3:00pm
Badger Crossfit, 1169 N 62nd St., Wauwatosa, 53213
Join BBBS for a fun afternoon of fitness with Badger Crossfit. Experience a variety of different exercises to learn more about functional training and a variety of movements you can do in a gym and on your own. Healthy snacks will be provided. This event is for ages 10 and older.

Circuitry and Electronics (Automation Lab) *Ages 13 and older
Tuesday, March 21 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Discovery World, 500 N. Harbor Dr. Milwaukee, 53202
Investigate how we harness and control electricity to make it work for us as you experiment with resistors and other circuit components. You’ll explore electronic circuit design by using circuit breadboards, multi-meters, and other electronic tools. This event is for Littles 13 and older.

Match Anniversary Party *All Ages
Wednesday, March 29 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

The Anniversary Party is designed to celebrate long-lasting mentoring relationships. We will have a structured program with games, awards and dinner. Then you and your Little will go bowling with other matches. BBBS holds a Match Anniversary Party every other month. Matches celebrating anniversaries in March and April will attend this party. This event is for all ages.
