Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

Learn to Earn: Employment Workshop- Space Still Available!
Saturday, May 14 from 9:00am-12:30pm

Ages 13 and older
Join BBBS and Cielo for a hands-on workshop for your Little to learn how to prepare for employment. The workshop will include: resume/cover letter building, mock interviews, and where to find jobs. This is a great opportunity to help your Little with getting prepared for summer jobs and future careers. Lunch will be provided. This event is for ages 13 and older.

Ages: 6-14
Discover the many jobs of a zookeeper—like cleaning rooms, preparing food and raking yards. You probably do all of these things already - you may already be a zookeeper! Well, here's a chance for you & your Little to go behind the scenes to observe animals in action, clean an exhibit and create an enrichment item. Then interview a zookeeper and use what you learned to build a miniature zoo to take home. This event is for Littles ages 6-14.

All ages
Join matches in visiting the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) and meet some furry friends! We will provide dinner, a behind the scenes tour of WHS, and get a chance to meet some of the adorable animals currently awaiting new homes! Learn how WHS cares for animals and what they do to make sure animals find the purr-fect home! Dinner will be provided. This event is for all ages.

Match Anniversary Party

The Anniversary Party includes awards, games and dinner. Our party is designed to celebrate long-lasting mentoring relationships. We will have a structured program and then allow time to play game. Matches celebrating anniversaries in May and June will attend this party. This event is for all ages.

Learn! Develop! Grow! Join BBBS for a fun-filled event focused on building your match relationship. This activity is intended for our newest matches, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends, set goals and learn more about each other. We will have interactive games that will help you with strengthening the building blocks of your friendship. You will walk away with great tips to help you both as you continue to develop your relationship. Dinner will be provided. This event is for matches within the first four months and for all ages.
