Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

BBBS Smart Start
Wednesday, November 2 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
BBBS Office, 788 N. Jefferson St. Ste. 600, Milwaukee, 53202
Learn! Develop! Grow! Join BBBS for a fun-filled event focused on building your match relationship. This activity is intended for our newest matches, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends, set goals, and learn more about each other. We will have interactive games that will help you with strengthening the building blocks of your friendship. You will walk away with great tips to help you both as you continue to develop your relationship. Dinner will be provided. This event is for matches within the first four months and for all ages.

Operation: Support our Troops *All Ages
Wednesday, November 9 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Hunzinger Construction, 21100 Enterprise Ave., Brookfield, 53045
Join BBBS for our annual event to support our troops overseas. We will have special guests share their military experiences and we’ll teach matches what it takes to be in the military. Matches will create and assemble packages with letters, cards, necessities, and treats. Dinner will be provided. We ask each Big to bring 15 of one item from the supply list to help create our packages and share with everyone. This event is for all ages. Click here to see the list of supplies.

Born To Be Wild *Ages 6-12   This event is now full. Please email to be added to the waitlist.

Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee, 53226
What do you call a family of kangaroos? A troop! What about a group of elephants? A parade! Show your “pride” as we explore the behaviors of animal families at the Zoo. Learn how they play, feed, and help each other. Tour the Zoo to discover fun stories about our Zoo animal families and then create cool animal costumes. Will you be a crash, a pack, a pod or a smack? Light snacks will be provided. Please note: After our class you are welcome to stay and enjoy the Zoo as well. This event is for Littles ages 6-12.

Discovery World, 500 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee, 53202
Join Bigs and LIttles for a fun evening of learning at Discovery World. Get up close and personal with a Lake Michigan creature as you explore the anatomy of a vertebrate! You’ll identify and investigate specific organs, body systems, and unique adaptations of fish. We will provide light snacks. This event is for Littles 12 and older.

  BBBS Spirit Tree-Imagine *All Ages
Wednesday, November 16 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

BBBS, 770 N. Jefferson St., Milwaukee, 53202 - downstairs atrium
Join BBBS for crafting and holiday fun! Our agency was selected to decorate a tree in Cathedral Square that will represent BBBS and our matches. We invite you to be a part of this process by making ornaments and decorating the tree in the park. Dinner will be provided. This event is for all ages.

 Tennis Clinic with MU Teams *Ages 6-13

Helfaer Tennis Stadium & Recreation Center, 525 N. 16th St., Milwaukee, 53233
Join BBBS for our annual tennis clinic with the Marquette University women’s and men’s tennis teams. Learn what it’s like to be a college athlete and see a game in action. Enjoy getting to know players from around the world as they teach matches how to serve, volley and rally. Tennis is a great lifetime sport for all levels of fitness. Light snacks will be provided. This event is for Littles 13 and under.

  Holiday Treats 101

Join Milwaukee Recreation for a fun class on how to make holiday cookies, jumbo loaded cookies, mini decorated cupcakes, cheesecakes, and other mini desserts. Bigs and Littles will be able to make and take treats home. This event is for all ages.

Match Anniversary Party (new location) *All Ages
Wednesday, November 30 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

AMF Bowlero Lanes, 11737 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa, 53222
The Anniversary Party is designed to celebrate long-lasting mentoring relationships. We will have a structured program with games, awards and dinner. Then you and your Little will go bowling with other matches, win prizes, and much more. BBBS holds a Match Anniversary Party every other month. Matches celebrating anniversaries in November and December will attend this party. This event is for all ages.
