Events for Bigs and Littles

Match activities provide free and inexpensive things to do and the opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles. These structured group events are part of REACH, which incorporates learning and development into a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded experience for our Littles. There are five categories of REACH activities:

September Activities

Match Anniversary Party (new location) *All Ages
Wednesday, September 28 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

AMF Bowlero Lanes, 11737 W. Burleigh St., Wauwatosa, 53222
The Anniversary Party is designed to celebrate long-lasting mentoring relationships. We will have a structured program with games, awards and dinner. Then you and your Little will go bowling with other matches, win prizes, and much more. BBBS holds a Match Anniversary Party every other month. Matches celebrating anniversaries in September and October will attend this party. This event is for all ages.

BBBS Smart Start
Saturday, October 1 from 10:00am-12:00pm
BBBS Office, 788 N. Jefferson St. Ste. 600, Milwaukee, 53202
Learn! Develop! Grow! Join BBBS for a fun-filled event focused on building your match relationship. This activity is intended for our newest matches, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends, set goals, and learn more about each other. We will have interactive games that will help you with strengthening the building blocks of your friendship. You will walk away with great tips to help you both as you continue to develop your relationship. Lunch will be provided. This event is for matches within the first four months and for all ages.

College Fair Prep Luncheon and National College Fair *Ages 13 and older Space Still Available!
Sunday, October 2 from 12:00pm-1:00pm Luncheon, from 2:00pm-3:00pm attend the college fair
Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, 53203
Middle and high school Littles and their Bigs our invited to lunch workshop to prepare to attend to the National College Fair. The workshop will help Littles prepare for the college fair experience. There will be over 200 colleges to check out, talk with and learn more about what they have to offer. This event is for ages 13 and older. Click here to learn more about the National College Fair. Please note: We are finalizing the location for the luncheon and will let you know more details. The college fair is open to the public. Please indicate if you are not able to attend both the workshop lunch and college when registering.

  Unite Against Bullying *Ages 6-13   Space Still Available!
Tuesday, October 4 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Tippecanoe Library, 3912 S. Howell Ave. Milwaukee, 53207
October is National Anti-bullying Month. Join BBBS and Bill Singleton former, MPD Officer and Vistelar staff, for a hands on workshop to discuss, learn, and practice anti-bullying skills. Matches will be able to focus on conflict resolution skills in an interactive way to build positive relationships. Please join us whether your Little has experienced bullying or not. Dinner will be provided. This event is for Littles ages for 6-13.

Celebrate Fall on the Farm *All Ages
Saturday, October 8 from 9:30am-12:00pm

Barthel Fruit Farm, 12246 N. Farmdale Rd., Mequon, 53097
Join us for a Wisconsin tradition of apple picking in the fall. Learn more about local farming. You will be able to pick apples to share with each other. In addition, each Little will get to pick a pumpkin to take home. We will have light snacks, recipes, and fall activity ideas for you and your Little. This event is for Littles of all ages. *Please note: We need your Little’s input! We will ask your Little to complete a United Way Survey. United Way is an important partner of Big Brothers Big Sisters and they collect feedback from our Littles about their experience in the program.
Due to limited capacity, registration for this event is by invitation only! If your Little is eligible, you will receive an email invitation. 

Indoor Field Hockey 101 *Ages 10 and older  Space Still Available!
Saturday, October 15 from 10:00am-12:00pm

In-Bounds Training Center 2920 W. Vera Ave., Glendale, 53209
Come learn a new game! Did you know Field Hockey is one of the most popular sports in the world? Field Hockey is a great game that will allow you to be active, have fun and meet new people. This session will teach the basics of the sport, culminating in friendly and enjoyable games including a short exhibition by the Milwaukee Field Hockey Club Elite U16s. Lunch will be provided. This event is for Littles 10 and older.

Join First Stage for a private pre-show workshop to develop a deeper understanding of the play’s themes. Stay and enjoy a special performance of GOOSEBUMPS PHANTOM OF THE AUDITORIUM, THE MUSICAL, a world premiere musical. Light snacks will be provided. This event is for Littles ages 6 and older.

  National Make a Difference Day *All Ages Space Still Available!
Saturday, October 22 from 10:00am-12:00pm

The Guest House 1216 N 13th St, Milwaukee,53205
Join BBBS in celebrating National Make a Difference Day by giving back to our community. Our service project will be to create bag lunches for the Guest House meal program. Light snacks will be provided. This event is for all ages. Please note: We are asking you to bring the following items: 2 loaves of white bread, 1 lb. of turkey, ham, or roast beef, and 16 slices of American cheese.
