Rob gave Felix someone he could count on.

When Rob met Felix, the 12-year-old was struggling with school and home life. What Felix needed was someone he could trust.

In the beginning of their match Rob tried to plan exciting things to do with Felix, but he quickly learned that being a Big Brother wasn’t about planning awesome activities.

“I had that desire to be cool,” Rob said. “Little did I know, someone cool is someone who is always there.”

Rob earned Felix’s confidence by staying with him through tough times. It wasn’t always easy, but Felix and Rob built a strong friendship by sharing simple activities, like playing video games, going out to eat and going to the gym.

“We all want to feel like we are here for some reason,” Rob said. “Felix actually does need me.”
